For the first time in France, a floating wind turbine was installed in September 2018 off the coast of Le Croisic in the Atlantic Ocean. Designed by the start-up Ideol, the Floatgen demonstrator will test a new floating mount technology, which differs from traditional seabed-mounted structures. Floatgen can generate enough to supply the equivalent of a town of 5,000 people.
